| Tellus offers the
Dexion conveyor system, that embraces six major functions which
can be utilised as either stand alone units or integrated as
required to provide a comprehensive conveyor system, tailor-made
to individually specified functionality, performance and volume
through-put parameters. |
|
Transportation
Fundamental to any conveyor system is the efficient movement
of products and materials. Dexion's standard conveyor range
embraces both gravity and powered transportation. |
|
Merge
The Dexion conveyor merge function, for lineshaft or chain driven
systems, ensures balanced load feeding and constant flow as
product and materials consolidate and move to the main line.
All input functions are monitored to avoid overload or imbalance
and maximise system efficiency. |
|
Accumulation
The accumulation function stores or accumulates product until
it is required. It may act as a buffer between work stations,
or even out the peaks and troughs in a production line or order
picking system in a warehouse. Accumulation conveyors permit
minimal or zero product line pressure by eliminating queuing
contact. |
|
Sortation
The vital task of ensuring that products and materials arrive
at their correct destination is controlled by the sortation
function. Dexion's range of sorters and diverters have different mechanical
configurations to specifically meet individual system requirements.
Selection criteria depends on the dimensions of the carton,
required through-put volume and the characteristics of the system
concerned. |
|
Induction
The induction function maximises sorter through-put by creating
minimum gaps of predetermined uniform length between cartons.
As cartons of varying sizes arrive from the accumulation conveyors,
photo-electric cells located on the induction conveyors measure
the gap between each carton. This information is sent to the
Dexion Conveyor Management System which adjusts the speed of
the conveyors to achieve maximum sorter efficiency. |
